  3. 1989. Ricardo Montalbán, actor, tells of his origins: his parents are Spanish immigrants to Mexico. His early move to the United States, his start in the theater in New York, and Brodway, and his first movies (remember his first Hollywood movie "Fiesta" where he had to dance with Cyd Charisse a kind of flamenco dance to the sound of the music by a Basque group). He does not agree with the myth of the Latin lover that Hollywood created. In his personal life he talks about his wife Georgiana Young, with whom he has four children and defines himself as a romantic. He is a Catholic and practicing religion.
Of his acting career, he talks about how important it was for him to appear in television series ("The Fantasy Island", 1977) that gave him popularity and economic stability. Regarding his career in Hollywood, he tells how hard it is to "stay in the market" and how the prejudices of the US film industry harm actors of Mexican origin. He has never been given a chance to have "a big role." He fights against stereotypes and wants to change the image of the Mexican in the film industry: he founded the "Nosotros" association that develops actors from Mexico so that they are prepared in the cinematographic world. Without a doubt, Ricardo Montalbán is a forerunner in the cinema of the United States (USA) that paved the way for Mexican actors and film directors who now triumph as Alfonso Cuarón, film director of the film «Roma», awarded at the Óscar Awards 2019.
